Sergio Carreira

Sergio Carreira of Celta Vigo was born in Vigo, Spain on 13 October 2000 (age 26).

Sergio Carreira, born 13 October 2000 (age 25), is a compact Spanish right-back at 5ft 7in (1.70m). He is primarily associated with Celta Vigo, where he wears the number 5 shirt.

His development was helped by time away from the first-team glare, with the 2022-23 season at Villarreal B standing out. That was his most productive league campaign, bringing two goals in 31 appearances and giving him a proper run of senior football rather than the usual brief education by substitution.

By 2026-27 he was back in the Celta Vigo picture, making seven LaLiga appearances, along with one in the Copa del Rey and one in the Europa League. Across all competitions for Celta Vigo that season, he has made nine appearances.

Carreira’s career so far has been that of a developing full-back shaped by regular football on loan and then folded back into Celta’s senior squad. It is a steady, practical profile rather than one requiring embroidery.
