Sam Fisher, born on 26 July 2001 (age 24), is a Scottish central defender whose career has been shaped mainly by Dunfermline Athletic rather than by any sudden leap elsewhere.
His early senior football included a loan spell at Dundee in 2022-23, where he made six league appearances. It was modest enough in scale, but useful in the usual way for a young defender: proper matches, less shelter, fewer excuses.
Dunfermline has been the main thread. Across four seasons he made 44 league appearances for the Pars, without scoring, and that stretch remains the clearest marker of his development as a first-team player. It was there that he moved beyond the outline of a prospect and into the routine demands of senior football.
In 2025-26 he has been with Airdrieonians, making 14 League One appearances and scoring once, along with one Scottish Cup outing. Across all competitions for Airdrieonians, he has 15 appearances and one goal.
Fisher’s career so far is that of an established Scottish lower-league centre-half, built through loans, a substantial Dunfermline spell, and regular football with Airdrieonians.
