Dunfermline Athletic are one of the familiar names of Scottish football, founded in 1885 and based at KDM Group East End Park. Their 2025-26 campaign was spent in the Championship, with a League Cup Group C programme also part of the year.
It was a young and sizeable squad, with 39 players and an average age of 22. The numbers pointed to a side with a little more edge away from home than at East End Park: they averaged 1.6 goals scored on the road, against 1.3 at home, while conceding only slightly more away than in Fife.
Andrew Tod carried the main scoring burden with 16 goals, backed by Chris Kane on 10. Josh Cooper and Barney Stewart both reached seven, with Callumn Morrison adding six, giving Dunfermline a spread of contributors beyond the obvious focal point.
Their closing league form was uneven rather than alarming. A 0-0 draw with Arbroath followed a 2-0 win at Queen’s Park, while earlier away results included a 2-2 draw at Airdrieonians and a 3-0 win at Ayr United. Defeats to St Johnstone and Partick Thistle kept the run from looking more substantial.
For Celtic supporters, Dunfermline remain a well-established Scottish club with a recognisable ground, a young squad, and enough away threat to merit attention when paths cross.
