Nicolas Kühn, a bona fide German export with a birth certificate dating back to 1 January 2000, takes to the green expanse primarily as a right winger. Celtic have the honour of his services, and Kühn has donned the somewhat revered number 10 jersey. Measuring a rather standard 5ft 9in and hefting around 10st 12lbs, he's rather unremarkable, physically.
Transfermarkt assigns Kühn with a price tag roughly amounting to £2.13m. Celtic have him on their rolls until 30 June 2029, fashioning a neat, nearly five years, contract.
In the 2024 - 2025 Premiership season, Kühn featured in a pair of matches, notching up an equal number of goals. He graced the field of the League Cup 2024 - 2025 once, managing to score a goal. The 2023 - 2024 Scottish Cup saw him take the field four times, two each as a starter and substitute, scoring once.
Prior to his Celtic chapter, Kühn had a colourful transfer history. His journey began as a trainee at RB Leipzig II in Oberliga, Germany in July 2015. A departure in January 2018 saw him join Jong Ajax in the Eerste Divisie in Netherlands, with the transfer costing around £1.8m.
In a flurry of transfers, Kühn moved to Bayern München II in Oberliga, Germany in January 2020 for an undisclosed fee, then to Erzgebirge Aue in the 3. Liga in Germany on loan in July 2021, and further to Rapid Vienna in the Bundesliga in Austria in July 2022 for the paltry sum of £450k. Finally, in January 2024, he joined Celtic in the Premiership in Scotland for a fee around the £3m mark.
Throughout his career, Kühn has had a rather standard performance chart. His scores range from two to four goals per season, and first team appearances from 16 to 27, playing for clubs such as Jong Ajax in Netherlands, Bayern München II in Germany, Erzgebirge Aue in Germany, Rapid Vienna in Austria and, currently, Celtic in Scotland.
