Nicolas Kuhn, the forward predominantly deployed as a right winger for Celtic, came into the world on the first day of the 21st century, in Germany. Kuhn's footballing journey began in earnest in July 2015 with RB Leipzig II in the Oberliga, the fifth tier of German football. Here, he undertook his apprenticeship in the world of professional football. The next move came in January 2018, when he left RB Leipzig II for Jong Ajax in the Eerste Divisie, the second division in Netherlands, with his transfer fee put at approximately £1.8m. His debut 2017 - 2018 season at Jong Ajax saw him get five first team appearances in league matches. In the following season, he made 21 first team appearances and netted two goals. The 2019 - 2020 season at Jong Ajax witnessed Kühn making 17 first team appearances with three goals to his name.
When the next transfer window opened in January 2020, Kühn headed back to Germany, joining Bayern München II in the Oberliga, the exact fee he commanded undisclosed. His stint at Bayern München II spanned over two seasons, during which he made a total of 37 first team appearances and scored six goals. Following his time there, he was loaned out to another German side, Erzgebirge Aue, for the 2021 - 2022 season. Here, he made 27 first team appearances and scored three goals.
July 2022 saw Kühn once again on the move as he bid adieu to Germany and transferred to Rapid Vienna, a top-flight Austrian club, for a fee around £450k. His two-season stint at Rapid Vienna saw him making 36 first team appearances and scoring five goals in league matches.
The former Germany youth international embarked on a new chapter of his footballing journey when he transferred from Rapid Vienna to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, in January 2024 for about £3m. Up till the present season (2024 - 2025), he has made a total of 24 first team appearances for the club, finding the back of the net six times. His goal tally includes four goals in the League Cup 2024 - 2025 in his two starts and one appearance as a substitute, in addition to two goals during four starts for the 2024 - 2025 Champions League, and a single goal from two starts and two appearances as a substitute in the Scottish Cup 2023 - 2024.
