Joe Thomson, born in Paisley on 14 January 1997 (age 29), came through at Celtic as a trainee before his senior career took shape elsewhere. A central midfielder with a defensive leaning, he was part of the club’s youth set-up but moved on in July 2018, joining Dunfermline Athletic.
That move began the more substantial part of his career.
