Joe Chalmers, born on 3 January 1994 (age 32), is a Scottish defensive midfielder whose early senior career included a brief Celtic spell. He joined Celtic from Falkirk in July 2014, but his time in Glasgow was short, and he moved on to Motherwell in July 2015.
Motherwell was the first stop after Celtic, with later spells at Inverness CT, Ross County and Ayr United. His most productive league season came at Ross County in 2019–20, when he scored three times in 14 appearances – a useful return for a player generally used in the more restrained areas of midfield.
Chalmers later established himself more fully at Dunfermline Athletic before moving to Cove Rangers. In 2026–27 he has made six appearances for Cove across League One, the League Cup and the Scottish Cup, including three in the league.
