Denil Castillo, born on 24 March 2004 (age 22), is an Ecuadorian central defensive midfielder with FC Midtjylland. He wears number 21 and has a current market value of around £3m, according to Transfermarkt.
Midtjylland have given him the bulk of his senior football, and his career to this point is shaped far more by that spell than by anything around the edges. Across three league seasons he has made 52 league appearances and scored four goals, all of those goals coming in 2025-26, when he played 26 league matches.
He remains part of the first-team picture in 2026-27. Castillo has made 20 appearances for Midtjylland across all competitions, including four in the league, 10 in the Europa League, two in Europa League qualifying and four in Conference League qualifying. He has also added one appearance for Ecuador in South American World Cup qualifying.
At this stage, Castillo is a developing midfielder whose senior career is overwhelmingly tied to Midtjylland. The important point is simple enough: he is not just on the books there, he is still being used.
