Alexander Nübel, born on 30 September 1996 (age 29), is a German goalkeeper on Bayern Munich’s books. At 6ft 4in (1.93m), he is an imposing figure in the position, with the size expected of a modern Bundesliga keeper rather than anything especially exotic.
His early senior league involvement came at Schalke 04, where he made one league appearance in the 2015-2016 season. From there he moved into the Bayern Munich structure, a route that brings obvious status but also the usual problem for goalkeepers: getting on the pitch is often the hardest part of the job.
In 2025-2026, Nübel has remained a regular first-team presence, making 34 league appearances, all of them in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich. His current market value is around £10m, according to Transfermarkt.
Nübel’s career has run from Schalke into Bayern, with his latest season showing that he is still playing regularly at a high domestic level. For a goalkeeper in his late twenties, that is the part that matters most.
