Alexander Nübel, born 30 September 1996 (age 29), is a German goalkeeper now with Besiktas. An imposing 6ft 4in (1.93m), he fits the modern preference for size in the position without that needing dressed up as a revelation. His market value is around £10m, according to Transfermarkt.
He was on Schalke 04’s books as a young goalkeeper and made a league appearance in 2015-16. For a keeper at that age, even a single senior outing is a marker rather than a full arrival, but it placed him on the professional track early.
By 2026-27, Nübel is at Besiktas, where he has made four Süper Lig appearances and five more in Europa League qualifying. That gives him nine appearances in all competitions for the club this season.
Nübel’s career to this point runs from early senior football at Schalke to a current role with Besiktas: a tall German goalkeeper with league and European qualifying minutes on his recent record.
