Yuki Kobayashi, a Japanese defender, was born on the 18th of July, 2000. Standing at 6ft (1.85m) and weighing 11st 11lb (75kg), he currently plies his trade for Portimonense in Portugal.
Transfermarkt values him at around £549k. His contract with Portimonense is set to expire on the 30th of June, 2027, leaving him with roughly three years on his current deal.
His professional career began in January of 2018 when he joined Vissel Kobe in the J1 League in Japan. His time at the club saw sporadic appearances, totalling 56 league matches across four seasons, interrupted by a couple of loan moves.
In July 2019, he was loaned to Machida Zelvia, a fellow J1 League club, and later to Yokohama FC in the J2 League in January of 2020. He found a bit more time on the pitch with Yokohama, making 28 appearances and scoring a couple of goals.
January 2021 marked his return to Vissel Kobe, with his loan at Yokohama having concluded. He continued to feature for Kobe, building up his match experience with 54 first-team league appearances across his time at the club.
In January 2023, he made a significant career move, joining Celtic for an undisclosed fee. However, his stint in Scotland was somewhat short-lived, making only five first team appearances over the course of a season.
His time at Celtic came to an end in August 2024 when he transferred to his current club, Portimonense. As of now, he's yet to make his debut for the Portuguese side.
While his journey sees Kobayashi having experienced three different country’s football sectors, his limited spell at Celtic provided scant opportunity to leave a significant mark on the Scottish Premiership.
