Born in Belarus on the 23rd of January 1997, Valery Gromyko is a footballer nestled comfortably in the position of the central attacking midfielder for Kazakhstan's Premier League team, Kairat. The 1.78m (5ft 10in) gridiron gladiator, charging down the pitch under the weight of 72kg (11st 4lb), regularly graces his team's matches sporting the number 55 jersey. The midfielder's skills haven't solely been a bounty for his club. Indeed, Gromyko has also proudly donned the colours of his native nation's football team, representing Belarus on an international stage.
Gromyko's career graph has been a series of strategically chosen leaps. In 2018, he began his football journey with Shakhtyor Soligorsk in the First League of Belarus. His debut season witnessed nine first team appearances in league matches. In the subsequent season of 2019, he returned proving that he was no fleeting phenomenon, a further ten first team appearances found him scoring four commendable goals.
A new year and a new opportunity came calling for Gromyko in 2020 as he transferred to Arsenal Tula in Russia's National League for an undisclosed fee. In his inaugural season, Gromyko made a modest mark with three first team appearances. However, with the dawn of the 2020-2021 season, Gromyko made it evident that he was not one to be dismissed, emerging with a tally of sixteen first team appearances.
July 2021 ushered in another layer of variance to Gromyko's career, as he was loaned to BATE Borisov in the Premier League of Belarus. With eight first team appearances and a couple of goals to boot in his belt during the 2021 season, Gromyko returned to Arsenal Tula upon completion of his loan in January 2022. He continued his stint with the Russian team for the rest of the season making three first team appearances and subsequently sixteen the following year.
Without dwelling in rank consistency, Gromyko opted for another change in February 2022, as he returned to BATE Borisov in the Premier League of Belarus. He culminated his season there with eight first team appearances and two goals. The wheels of change turned once more in September 2023 as Gromyko moved further afield to Torpedo Moscow in Russia's National League. A year later, in July 2024, he found himself signing a deal with Kairat in Kazakhstan's Premier League.
Currently, for the 2025 season, Gromyko has been nothing short of impressive – securing twelve first team appearances and netting two goals. In addition to representing his club, Gromyko also participates in World Cup Qualifiers for Belarus, the Euro Qualifiers, the Nations League and Champions League qualifiers for Kairat. He not only demonstrates his skills on the pitch as a midfielder but also scores when given opportunity, proving to be an asset not easily overlooked.
