Uche Ikpeazu, born on 28 February 1995 in England, is a forward renowned for his role as a striker for St Johnstone. Standing tall at 6ft 3in (1.91m) and weighing a solid 13st 12lb (88kg), the lad certainly cuts an imposing figure on the field. His current market value hovers around the £250,000 mark, according to Transfermarkt, with his contract with St Johnstone set to expire on 31 May 2026.
Ikpeazu began his professional journey in July 2013 when he joined Watford in the English Championship. In January 2014 and again in November 2014, he took temporary leave of Watford to play on loan for Crewe Alexandra in England's League Two. During his two-season stint here, he made 32 first team appearances and knocked in a respectable six goals.
Afterwards, he sampled life at Doncaster Rovers, again on loan, and then returned to Crewe for a third time. Following this, he joined League Two's Port Vale in July 2015 and then moved up to Blackpool in the League One in January 2016.
By August 2016, Ikpeazu transferred to Cambridge United in the League One, where he bagged 15 goals across 55 appearances in two seasons. In July 2018, he swapped out the English turf for Scotland's Premiership, joining Hearts. Here, he made a total of 40 first team appearances and scored five goals over two seasons.
In a series of swift moves from August 2020 to January 2022, Ikpeazu played for Wycombe Wanderers in England's League One; transferred to Middlesbrough in the Championship for a fee around £1m; joined Cardiff City on loan; and finally, went back to Middlesbrough. During this period, he made 64 first team appearances and maintained a consistent scoring streak with 11 goals.
After a short stint at Konyaspor in Turkey's Süper Lig, Ikpeazu returned to his familiar stomping ground, Port Vale, in October 2023. As per his previous season with Vale, he saw consistent play time and managed to net five goals.
In July 2024, his footballing journey took him back to Scotland, joining the Premiership side St Johnstone. As of the current 2024 - 2025 season, he has yet to make any first team appearances.
