Tony Watt was born in Coatbridge on 29 December 1993 (age 32), and his senior career began close to home with Airdrieonians. Celtic moved for him in January 2011, paying around £100,000, and his early years at the club included the familiar mix of promise, first-team chances and development time away on loan.
He left Celtic in July 2014 for Standard Liège in a deal worth around £1m. What followed was a broad and sometimes unsettled career: Standard, Charlton Athletic, Oud-Heverlee Leuven, St Johnstone, CSKA Sofia, Dundee United and Partick Thistle all came into the story, while Motherwell gave him a more established spell in the Scottish top flight.
His most productive league season came at Dundee United in 2023–2024, when he scored 13 goals in 36 appearances. Now with Partick Thistle, where he wears squad number 32, he remains a regular first-team presence rather than a name living off earlier promise.
In 2025–2026, Watt has made 31 league appearances and scored six league goals for Partick Thistle. Across all competitions, he has 42 appearances and 10 goals, with his current market value around £128,000 according to Transfermarkt.
