Born on the 29th of December 1993, Tony Watt, who hails from Scotland, primarily plays as a forward for Motherwell. Standing at an impressive 5ft 11in (1.82m) tall and weighing 13st 12lb (88kg), Watt is known for his versatility on the field, often seen impressing in the number 52 jersey. Watt started his professional career with Airdrieonians in the Scottish Championship back in July 2010. After making 15 appearances and scoring three goals in his debut season, Watt made the move to Celtic in January 2011 for a fee of around £100k. The dynamic forward spent three seasons with Celtic, making 25 appearances and scoring seven goals in the league matches. His standout season was 2012 - 2013 where he clocked in 20 appearances and scored five goals.
Following his time with Celtic, Watt spent 2013 on loan with Lierse SK in Belgium's Derde Klasse, where he scored eight goals in 17 appearances. Subsequently, Watt transferred to Standard Liege in the Belgian Pro league for a fee around £1.2m in July 2014, but only scored twice in 13 league appearances. In January 2015, Watt moved to Charlton Athletic in England's League One for an undisclosed fee, where he would go on to score nine goals in 53 league appearances over a course of three seasons.
The following years saw Watt on multiple loan spells, including Cardiff City, Blackburn Rovers, and Hearts in Scotland, before transferring to Oud-Heverlee Leuven in the Pro League in Belgium in August 2017. Watt joined St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership in 2018 and then moved to CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria's First League a year later, before returning to Scottish football in February 2020 when he signed for Motherwell.
After making a brief but notable spell at Dundee United from January 2022 to 2023 and a short loan spell at St Mirren, Watt returned to Motherwell in 2024. Since his return, Watt has made 25 appearances and scored one goal in the current 2024 - 2025 season so far. Besides his league duties, Watt has also made appearances as a substitute in the League Cup and Scottish Cup on behalf of Motherwell.
