Tom Ritchie, a youthful scion of Scottish football, was born on the 27th of January 2003, making him 22 years of age. He hails from Scotland and currently keeps goal for Aberdeen. Ritchie stands at an impressive 5ft 11in (1.82m) and tips the scales at 12st 1lb (77kg). With the number 25 emblazoned on his jersey, he marks a persistent defensive presence for his team.
Ritchie is currently in the closing stages of his contract with Aberdeen, with only 4 months remaining. Unless negotiations change this, his tenure with the club will end on the 31st of May 2025.
Back in July 2018, Ritchie made his journey to Aberdeen from Celtic. Sadly, in the current 2024-2025 season, Ritchie hasn't had the opportunity to demonstrate his skills on the pitch in first-team league matches.
Life in the Premiership was punctuated with loans to lower league sides, signalling the hopeful growth of another promising young player. July 2022 saw Ritchie loaned out to Queen of the South in League One for some defined playing time.
Only two months later, in September 2022, Ritchie was once again on the move, this time to Peterhead in League Two. His season at Peterhead proved fruitful, with 17 first team appearances in league matches, an excellent run for a player his age.
A brief return to Aberdeen in January 2023 was followed by a return loan to Peterhead the same month. The second stint in League Two mirrored the first, with Ritchie appearing 17 more times in the league for the club.
After a period flying under the radar in the top league following his return to Aberdeen, Ritchie was once again loaned out, this time to Bonnyrigg Rose in League Two in July 2024. However, this tour of duty was shorter; by December the same year, Ritchie was back at Aberdeen. As yet, he's made no first team appearances in this league for the current season.
Time will tell where the road will lead this young goalkeeper next, but each loan and each match only serve to hone his skills and strengthen his resolve.
