After a period of development, he was called back to St Johnstone in June 2024 and made seven first-team appearances in the current 2024 – 2025 season, scoring one goal. St Johnstone continued to leverage Steven as a striking force in the same season, fielding him in 15 matches in a loan spell with Cliftonville in Northern Ireland's Premiership. There, he proved his worth by netting three goals.
Returning home from Northern Ireland, Steven restarted his Scottish Premiership journey with his parent club, St Johnstone. In this 2024- 2025 season, he has so far made seven appearances and scored one goal. His contributions extended beyond league matches, having played in the 2024 - 2025 season's League Cup, appearing in four matches for St Johnstone, and also in the Scottish Cup where he started in one game.
