Born on 27 October 1992 in Italy, Stephan El Shaarawy, now 33, is a football forward currently serving as the left winger for Roma. At 5ft 10in (1.78m) tall and with a weight of 11st 4lb (72kg), El Shaarawy dons the number 92 jersey.

El Shaarawy broke into professional football in July 2008 when he joined Serie A club Genoa, where he made three first team appearances in two seasons.
In July 2010, he was loaned out to Padova in Serie B where he performed remarkably well, making 25 first team appearances and netting seven goals in the league matches.
After his successful stint at Padova, El Shaarawy was snatched up by AC Milan for around £8.8m in July 2011. He had 83 first team appearances with 21 goals during his tenure with Milan.
El Shaarawy was loaned to Monaco in July 2015 where he made 15 first team appearances during his season there. The following January, he was transferred on loan once more, this time to Roma.
Demonstrating great pace and technique at Roma, he became a stalwart of the team, with 266 first team appearances and a commendable 41 goals in his record.
His strong showing at Roma led to a permanent switch to Roma from AC Milan for around £9.8m in July 2016. His performance remained solid, making considerable contributions in each season.
In an unexpected move, El Shaarawy left Italy for China in July 2019, joining Shanghai Shenhua for roughly £14m. Unfortunately, his stint in China was rather short-lived with a total of 16 first team appearances in two seasons.
Returning to Italy in January 2021, he transferred back to former club Roma. The current season sees El Shaarawy having made seven first team appearances so far.
His track record boasts of participation in the Europa League 2023 - 2024 for Roma with 13 appearances and in the Europa League 2025 - 2026 for Roma, making six appearances and scoring a goal.
