Slobodan Rubezic is a Serbian-born footballer, born 21st March 2000 (currently aged 25). Specialising in defence, he typically fills the role of central defender for Aberdeen, trading tackles in the trenches of the Scottish Premiership. He stands at an imposing 6ft 4in (1.94m), which, combined with his hearty mass of 13st 5lb (85kg), leaves him well equipped for aerial battles. Donning the number 33 jersey, Rubezic's football journey has an international flavour - having represented the Montenegro national team, and icing his own club venture with a stint in Bulgaria.
The man's current market value is estimated to be in the vicinity of £1.3m, cited from Transfermarkt. His contract with Aberdeen still has a healthy 10 months to run, not due to expire until 31st May 2026.
Rubezic made his transfer from Serbian SuperLiga club Čukarički to Bulgarian First League team Arda Kardzhali in July 2021. During his debut season in Bulgaria (2021 - 2022), Rubezic marked the pitch in five league games, making his presence felt. A brief return to Serbia in January 2022 saw Rubezic weaving his way into Novi Pazar’s squad, another club from the Serbian SuperLiga.
In July 2023, Rubezic found himself crossing continental lines - a move from Novi Pazar to Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership. The details of the transfer fee remain enshrined in mystery. During his initial tenure at Aberdeen (2023 - 2024), Rubezic made 18 appearances in league matches, which increased to 20 the following season. However, he has yet to make his mark in the current season (2025 - 2026).
In an abrupt twist, Rubezic was loaned from Aberdeen back to Novi Pazar in February 2025. After a brief sojourn, he returned to Aberdeen in June 2025, but as it stands now, he has yet to step onto the pitch for the current season.
Rubezic has demonstrated his prowess in a variety of contests, including the Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025 (one start for Aberdeen), the Euro Qualifiers 2022 - 2024 (scoring a single goal in two starts for Montenegro), the Nations League 2024 - 2025 (two starts for Montenegro), and the Conference League 2023 - 2024 (six starts for Aberdeen).
