Sebastian Tounekti was born on 13 July 2002, making him currently 23 years of age. Hailing from Norway, this forward primarily takes position on the pitch as a left winger for Celtic Football Club. Measuring 5ft 7in (1.71m) in height and tipping the scales at 10st 3lb (65kg), the number 23 jersey sits snugly on Tounekti's frame during matches. Is he just a one-club man? Not at all. Sebastian has also proudly donned the Tunisia national team colours.
At present, a price tag hovers around Tounekti which, according to Transfermarkt, indicates a market value of about €6.00m, which translates to roughly £5.5 million in British currency.
This athletic winger's career began its trajectory in March 2020 when Tounekti transferred from Tromsdalen in Norway's 2. Divisjon to Bodo Glimt, competing in the nation's Eliteserien, for a fee that remained undisclosed. During his 2020 debut season, our man made nine appearances on the first team and found the back of the net once in league matches. However, a year later, his contributions were limited to just five first team appearances, with no goals added to his tally.
In August 2021, Tounekti's football path took a detour when he moved from Bodo Glimt, on loan, to FC Groningen, playing in the Eredivisie in the Netherlands. However, by June the following year, he was back in further northern climes, having returned from FC Groningen to Bodo Glimt on completion of his loan.
This was followed shortly by another transfer in August 2022, this time from Bodo Glimt to Haugesund, competing in Norway's OBOS-ligaen. During three seasons spent at Haugesund - 2022, 2023 and 2024 - Tounekti became a more regular feature on the pitch, especially in the last season when he turned out 29 times for first team appearances and celebrated four successful league goals.
Then, in February 2025, Tounekti switched Nordic nations to join Hammarby IF in Sweden's Allsvenskan, moving for a fee settled around the £1m mark. That year saw him strut his stuff on the pitch in 21 first team league appearances and chalking up two goals.
Come September 2025, Tounekti expanded his footballing experience further by transferring from Hammarby IF to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership for an undisclosed fee. His current season (2025-2026) has seen Tounekti make a solid impact, taking to the field on 20 occasions for first team league appearances, and adding two goals to his career tally.
His season with Celtic also saw Tounekti grace various competitions. He participated in Africa CON 2025 for Tunisia with one start and two substitute appearances, the League Cup 2025 - 2026 for Celtic (one goal across three starts), and the Scottish Cup 2025 - 2026 for Celtic with a tidy tally of two goals in one start and two substitute appearances. He also featured in World Cup Qualifiers Africa 2024 - 2026 for Tunisia with one start and one substitute appearance, and the Europa League 2025 - 2026 for Celtic, which saw him make an impressive eight starts and two substitute appearances.
