Scott Bain was born in Edinburgh on 22 November 1991 (age 34), and his early senior football was built away from the usual spotlight. A loan spell at Elgin City in 2010–11 gave him 11 league appearances, useful experience for a young goalkeeper learning the basics in proper first-team football rather than on a training pitch.
He then had time at Falkirk before establishing himself more fully at Dundee, where his performances earned him the move to Celtic in January 2018. Bain arrived from Dundee as a goalkeeper with a decent domestic grounding rather than a mystery project, and he settled into a squad where reliability mattered as much as profile.
His Celtic years brought substantial honours: two Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups and three League Cups. He was not the grand figure of that period, but he played his part in a successful squad and was a familiar first-team presence across several seasons.
Bain left Celtic in July 2025 for Falkirk, where he wears squad number 29 and has remained busy. In 2025–26, he has made 32 league appearances, along with three in the League Cup and four in the Scottish Cup, taking him to 39 appearances in all competitions for the club.
Now a Falkirk goalkeeper with a market value of around £85,000, according to Transfermarkt, Bain’s career has moved from early loan football, through Dundee and Celtic, and back into regular first-team work.
