Scott Bain, born in Edinburgh on 22 November 1991 (age 34), is a Scottish goalkeeper now with Falkirk. His early senior grounding included an Elgin City loan in 2010-2011, where he made 11 league appearances, the sort of spell that rarely looks glamorous but often does a young goalkeeper more good than another year waiting around.
He then moved through Falkirk before establishing himself more fully at Dundee. That period mattered: it turned him from a promising keeper into a credible Premiership option, and it was from Dundee that Celtic signed him in January 2018.
Bain’s Celtic career was not built on constant first-choice status, but he remained around the first-team picture for a long stretch and did his job when called upon. During his time at the club he was part of squads that won six Premiership titles, four League Cups and four Scottish Cups, as well as finishing runner-up in two Scottish Cups and one Premiership.
He left Celtic in July 2025 to return to Falkirk, where he has remained a regular first-team presence in 2025-2026, making 32 league appearances. His current market value is around £85,000, according to Transfermarkt.
Bain’s career has been shaped by practical progression rather than fuss: early loan football, a settled spell at Dundee, seven years at Celtic, and a return to Falkirk as an experienced senior goalkeeper.
