Born in Scotland on 26 March 2006, Samuel Harding is a robust defender currently plying his trade for Dundee United. At 19 years of age, the young Scot stands tall at 6ft 2in (1.88m) and tips the scales at 11st 9lb (74kg). The number 37 shirt has become a familiar sight on Harding, marking him out as one to watch amongst the Premiership's rising stars.
Harding's journey within Scottish football began in earnest in July 2021, when he joined Dundee United as a starry-eyed trainee. His debut season in the Premiership, 2024-2025, saw Harding making four first-team appearances and scoring his initial goal in league matches - a commendable achievement for a player in his position. The current season, 2025 - 2026, has seen a repeat of the number of appearances, pointing to a potential consistency taking shape in Harding's career.
Between Dundee United stints, Harding also experienced what it's like to be on loan. In September 2024, he made a short jump to Kelty Hearts in League One, marking his first experience outside the Premiership's walls. But it wasn't long before Dundee sought to reclaim their promising prospect – by January 2025, he was back in Dundee United ranks, turning out for them in the same debut season in which he'd began.
Adding to his competitive experience, Harding also took part in the revered Scottish Cup during the 2025 - 2026 season. Representing Dundee United, he started once and made another appearance as a substitute. Whilst some might downplay his modest record, others would point to his age and the weight of the tournament, recognizing his contribution as an encouraging start to what could be a long and successful career.
