Sam Culbert is a fresh face on Scotland's football circuit, making a name for himself as a forward, primarily as a striker for Livingston F.C, donning the number 36 jersey. This young chap was born on the 4th of May 2006, making him an eager 19 years old on today's date. Much like the unpredictability of Scottish weather, his journey in football has seen its fair share of unpredictability, too.
Culbert joined the ranks of Livingston F.C. in July 2022, which competes in the illustrious Premiership in Scottish football. However, his career didn't exactly skyrocket from the get-go. In his debut stint for the 2024-2025 season, he only managed to make a single first team appearance in league matches and has yet to log any appearances in the current season of 2025-2026.
Despite a lacklustre start at Livingston, a ray of hope emerged in July 2024. Culbert was transferred on loan to Darvel, which competes in the Junior Teams in Scotland. But, he returned to Livingston in January 2025 upon completion of his loan, having again made just one first team appearance in that initial 2024-2025 season.
A second loan chance beckoned Culbert in August 2025. He was transferred to East Fife, another Scottish team, this one in League One. His loan act with East Fife was brief but repetitious. He was recalled by Livingston in October 2025, returned to East Fife for a further loan in November 2025, and was back as a Livingston player once more in February 2026. The pattern was much the same, with Culbert gracing the field just once for Livingston in that debut 2024-2025 season, and so far going unutilised in the current 2025-2026 campaign.
While his league outings have been scarce, Culbert did get involved in the action during the League Cup 2025-2026. He appeared twice as a starting player for Livingston and twice more as a substitute during this tournament.
Time remains on Culbert's side; at just 19 years of age, he's already gained experience in the Premiership and had the taste of both loan spells and League Cup action. His story so far may not be filled with drama and extraordinary feats, but who can tell what the future holds for this lad in football?
