Rogers Mato, born on 10 October 2003 (age 22), is a Ugandan left winger with Hearts, where he wears squad number 74. His current market value is around £595,000, according to Transfermarkt.
His sharpest league return came at Vardar in 2025–26, when he scored 12 goals in 13 appearances. That sort of output tends to travel well on paper, though Scottish football has a habit of asking a few less polite questions.
At Hearts in 2026–27, Mato has made two league appearances. He has also scored twice in two League Cup games, played twice in Conference League qualifiers, and scored once in three Africa CON appearances. Across all competitions for Hearts, he has nine appearances and three goals.
Mato’s career so far is still taking shape: productive at Vardar, now being tested at Hearts, with his pace and left-sided attacking role the clear thread through the early part of his senior football.
