Robbie Deas, born in Scotland on 27 February 2000, is currently a 24-year-old stalwart in defence for Kilmarnock, a role he primarily fulfills as a central defender. The robust Scotsman, standing at 6 foot 2 inches (1.88m) and weighing 12 stone 1lb (77kg), is a commanding presence on the field, his lean frame adorned with the number 6 jersey.
Deas spent a considerable part of his early career at Celtic, where we first witnessed his burgeoning talent. However, his first bold stride into the football wilderness came in August 2018. Deas was loaned to the less glamourous confines of Cowdenbeath in the Lowland League. Although a drastic change from the Premiership, the decision was prudent in his developmental journey.
The following year, in August 2019, Deas swapped Celtic's iconic green and white hoops for Alloa Athletic's black and gold stripes, as he spent another loan spell away from Celtic, this time in Scotland's League One. This period was instrumental in carving out the mouldable clay of Deas into the more concrete form we see today.
His departure from Celtic arrived in August 2020, perhaps earlier than he would have liked. Deas took up residence at Inverness CT, also in League One. In his 2022 - 2023 debut season, the defender showed his promise, making 22 first-team appearances and even chipping in with a goal.
The charms of Premiership football lured Deas back in July 2023, this time at Kilmarnock. He quickly established himself, making 30 appearances and scoring once in the 2023 - 2024 season. The 2024 - 2025 season is ongoing, and Deas has already racked up a considerable 18 first team appearances in league matches.
Deas also featured in Kilmarnock's cup endeavors in the 2024 - 2025 season, starting once in the League Cup and twice in the Europa League qualifiers. He also made two substitute appearances in the Conference League Qualifiers. With so many appearances already under his belt, the future for Deas looks bright and he continues to stand strong in Kilmarnock's defence.
