Meet Reuben McAllister, a young midfielder born on 15 May 2006, in the heart of Scotland. At the ripe age of 19, McAllister finds himself scampering around for Hibernian, a club that have generously given him the number 40 jersey. It appears that a player of McAllister's calibre is suited to the central midfield role - quite the surprise that! He stands at a towering 5 ft 10 inches (1.78m) and moves around the park with a robust weight of 10st 5lb (66kg). They must be feeding him a few good old Scottish pies, I reckon.
In a move that would make even the most jaded of football fans raise an eyebrow, McAllister transferred from Bristol City to Hibernian in July 2022 for a staggering fee of around £250k. You can buy a lot of Irn Bru for that kind of cash.
As if the weather in Scotland wasn't grim enough in January, McAllister was shipped off to Kelty Hearts on loan in 2024. Then, as predictably as a dreich Scottish summer, he bounced back to Hibernian in June 2024 having completed his loan.
Funny enough, not long after his triumphant return to Hibernian for a whole five minutes, our young protagonist found himself once again shoved in a non-too-spacious loan box, this time destined for Cove Rangers in August 2024.
In what's becoming a near comedic ping-pong match of loans, we find McAllister serving out another chilly January back at Hibernian in 2025. Then, as if they had lost a bet, Hibernian decided to once again release our journeyman on loan to Forfar Athletic in February 2025. One might suggest young McAllister's postal address should be simply 'The Scottish Loan System'.
