Patryk Klimala, a Polish footballer born on the 5th of August, 1998, is a forward who plays for Sydney FC. As primarily a striker, Klimala stands at approximately 6ft (1.83m) and weighs 11st 13lb (76 kg). He can be often spotted on the field wearing the number 9 jersey.
Klimala began his football career with Jagiellonia Bialystok in Poland's Ekstraklasa in July 2016. His debut season was somewhat underwhelming, with only three first-team appearances. However, Klimala bounced back in the following seasons, demonstrating his striker capabilities with a steady increase in goal contributions.
In 2017, Klimala was shipped out on loan to Wigry Suwalki in the lower-ranked III Liga, where he found the back of the net 13 times in 27 league appearances. He subsequently returned to Jagiellonia, and continued to improve upon his goal tally.
By January 2020, Klimala’s rising performances caught the attention of Celtic Football Club, who signed him for a reported fee of about £3.5m. During his time at the Scottish giants, Klimala featured more frequently in the first team in his second season, scoring three goals in 17 league appearances.
After his stint in Scotland, Klimala sought new pastures in the in the United States with the New York Red Bulls in April 2021. Klimala made a credible mark in the MLS, with a decent goal haul of thirteen over two seasons.
Moving back to his European roots, a subsequent transfer in January 2023 led Klimala to join Hapoel Be'er Sheva in Israel, before returning to his homeland in with Slask Wroclaw in January 2024.
As of September 2024, Klimala finds himself at Sydney FC in Australia, a move initiated on loan. Scoring 11 goals in 21 league appearances so far, Klimala continues to prove his worth as a capable striker. At 26, it is certain that he has plenty more to offer in the football world.
