Oliwier Zych, born on 28 June 2004 in Poland, serves as a goalkeeper for the Premier League club, Aston Villa. His substantial frame is evident in his height of 6ft 3in (1.91m) and a weight of 13st 7lb (86kg). Zych is easily recognisable on the pitch, donning the number 48 jersey. Performing double duty in his role as a footballer, Zych also wears his national colours, having represented the Poland U21 national team.
As per the content available on Transfermarkt, Zych's current market value is estimated around £670k. It is no light task to place a value on a player of his calibre, however based on his performances and potential, the valuation appears fair.
Moving on from his monetary valuation to his football journey, Zych took his first professional steps with Zaglebie Lubin in the upper echelons of Polish football, the Ekstraklasa, in July 2018 as a trainee. Two years later, in July 2020, he took his talents to the British Isles, making a transfer to Aston Villa in England's Premier League. The details of the transaction remain undisclosed.
During the current season (2024 - 2025), Zych awaits his turn for first team appearances in league matches for Aston Villa.
In the interlude of his time at Villa Park, he was loaned out to Puszcza Niepolomice, a club at home in the top tier of Polish football, in September 2023. His debut season (2023 - 2024) with the Polish side was marked by 26 appearances in league matches. Once his loan tenure concluded in June 2024, Zych returned to the English side, Aston Villa.
Back at Villa Park for the current season (2024 - 2025), the young talent remains a part of the contingent but has not yet featured in any league matches. Although, given his promising groundwork back in Poland, one can anticipate Zych soon making waves in the Premier League.
