Born in Scotland on 7th April 1997, Oliver Burke is a forward for Union Berlin, often playing as a right-winger. Standing at 6ft 2in (1.88m) and weighing in at 12st 12lb (82kg), Burke commands a powerful on-field presence and wears the number 7 jersey.
Burke's career began at Nottingham Forest as a trainee, joining them in July 2005, and made his first-team debut nine years later during the 2014-2015 season. Across the following seasons, Burke made a name for himself, scoring six goals over 27 first-team appearances.
In search of new opportunities, Burke briefly moved on loan to Bradford City in 2015, before returning to Nottingham Forest. His performance sparked interest from Bundesliga's RB Leipzig, to which he transferred in August 2016 for a reported fee of around £13m.
After a single season and one goal over 25 matches at RB Leipzig, Burke returned to British soil, joining Championship team, West Bromwich Albion, in August 2017 for a fee of around £15m. However, his time there was limited to only 20 first-team appearances across three seasons.
The turn of 2019 saw Burke making his way to Celtic in Scotland on loan, where he scored four goals over 14 matches. Alas, Burke's time at Celtic was brief, and he spent the next season on loan at Spain's LaLiga club, Alaves, making 31 first-team appearances and scoring once.
In September 2020, Burke moved to Championship team Sheffield United, making 28 first-team appearances and scoring once across two seasons before going on loan to Millwall in January 2022. His time at Millwall was quite productive, contributing four goals across 31 first-team matches in two seasons.
In July 2022, Burke transferred to Bundesliga team Werder Bremen for an undisclosed fee, where he became a key player contributing seven goals in 41 first-team appearances scattered around various loan spells.
After short loan periods at Millwall and Birmingham City in 2023 and 2024 respectively, Burke made a final return to Werder Bremen. By July 2025, Burke transferred to his current club, Union Berlin, where so far, he has made four first-team appearances and scored once.
A noteworthy career characterised by an array of loan moves and frequent transfers, Burke's adaptability and determination have seen him perform in top leagues across England, Germany and Scotland. Despite the changes, his influence on the pitch has remained consistent, displaying remarkable talent whether at home or abroad.
