Neraysho Kasanwirjo, whose birth certificate tells us he was born on the 18th of February 2002 in the flat landscapes of the Netherlands, is currently playing for Rangers. Seems he's taken to defending, primarily in a central position. Height-wise, he's no Tom Cruise at 6ft (1.85m) and carries around a respectable 11st 13lb (76kg) body. The lad proudly wears the number 24 on his back and has even represented the Netherlands U21 national team.
His current market value is a staggering €1.80m or a somewhat less fancy £1.5m, according to our pals over at Transfermarkt. His contract with Rangers is ticking down with only 4 months left, set to expire on 30 June 2025.
Kasanwirjo walked into Jong Ajax in the Netherlands for the first time back in July 2011, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. In his debut season of 2019 - 2020 with Jong Ajax, he stepped into the pitch during league matches four times. The following season, he made 34 appearances and even managed to knock a ball into the net once.
In July 2021, he abandoned Jong Ajax and found a new home at FC Groningen. With them, he appeared 32 times in the first season and scored another goal. Following season saw him strut onto the pitch 15 times.
Then, in January 2023 decided to mix things up a bit and shifted over to Feyenoord for the loose change amount of £1.5m. Seemed like a quieter time for him making only 5 league appearances in the 22/23 season and just a couple so far this season.
Participating in a little game of football musical chairs, Kasanwirjo got himself shipped off to Rapid Vienna in the Austrian Bundesliga on loan in September 2023. Made 23 appearances over there.
Come June 2024, the loan's done, and he's packed up and hopped back to Feyenoord. Another quiet year with 5 league appearances in the 22/23 season and just a couple this season.
In August 2024, yep, you guessed it, he's off again. This time it's a loan to Rangers up in Scotland. So far, he's made 6 first-team appearances this season.
And aside from his league duties, the lad's even had a run out in the League Cup for Rangers, made a start and a substitute appearance in the UEFA U21 Championship Qualifiers for Netherlands U21, and thrown into the fray in the Europa League for Rangers.
