Apparently born on 18th February 2002, not that I have much reason to disbelieve it, Neraysho Kasanwirjo hails from the land of flat landscapes and tulips - the Netherlands, obviously. This lad's an up-and-coming centre-back playing for Feyenoord, not that Feyenoord is exactly up-and-coming. He's got a decent height for a footballer at 6ft (1.85m) which, coincidentally, is also a decent height for picking tulips. Weighing 11st 13lbs (76kg), he doesn't float around the pitch, which is, I presume, what you'd want in a defender. He can be found trotting around in the number 35 shirt when he's not warming the bench.
Mr. Kasanwirjo has been with the Dutch U21 side, glittering with the future stars of Dutch football, not that it means he's a star. For those few who'd be interested in knowing, his market value is about £1.5m. I'm not being condescending; it's according to Transfermarkt.
As for his illustrious career history, Kasanwirjo got his first taste of football as a trainee with Jong Ajax in the Eerste Divisie in 2011. He proved himself by making four appearances in the 2019-2020 season and impressively increased it to 34 appearances (and even managed to grab a goal) in the subsequent season.
He moved from Jong Ajax to another Eredivisie club, FC Groningen, in 2021. Here, he made 32 appearances in the 2021-2022 season, snagged a goal and made 15 appearances in the 2022-2023 season.
From then on, it was “Hello, Feyenoord!” He was transferred there for about £1.5m in January 2023, no doubt a monumental point in his life. Alas, in the 2022-23 season, he only made five appearances, with two in the 2024-2025 season and none as of yet in the current season.
Life plays funny tricks and Kasanwirjo found himself being shipped off to Rapid Vienna in Austria on loan in September 2023, making 23 appearances. Build them bridges and burn them right? After his lon stint, he was shipped back to Feyenoord in June 2024. Again, he only managed to make a few appearances for the Feyenoord senior team.
If you thought this chap's career couldn't get more thrilling, hold onto your hats! In August 2024, he was sent on another loan adventure, this time to the Rangers in Scotland. A season with the Scots garnered him another nine appearances. But alas, football is a cruel mistress, and in June 2025 he returned to Feyenoord, much to the dismay of the Rangers fanbase, I'm sure.
And last but not least, the man dabbled in UEFA U21 Qualifiers 2025 for the Dutch U21 team. Gan on, lad.
So, ladies and gents, there you have it - the whirlwind footballing journey of one Neraysho Kasanwirjo. We await eagerly to see where his footballing career dribbles him next.
