Murray Johnson, a Scottish goalkeeper currently playing for Hibernian, was born on 13 November 2004. Standing at a sturdy 6ft 2in (1.89m) tall and weighing in at 13st 9lb (87kg), Johnson dons the number 31 jersey for his club. As of now, his market value is approximately £43k, as estimated by Transfermarkt.
Johnson linked up with Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership as a trainee back in July 2019, quite the move for the young shot-stopper. His track record for the 2025-26 season, however, is unblemished by first team games; he hasn't made his league debut for the club yet.
In July 2022, Johnson found himself loaned out to Airdrieonians, who ply their trade in Scotland's Championship division. It was here, during the 2022-23 season, that he had his first brush with senior team football, being summoned between the sticks for six league games. Johnson made a total of 11 appearances in the 2024-25 season.
Post his stint with Airdrieonians, Johnson returned to Hibernian in August 2022, only to be loaned back to the Championship side in February 2023. After yet another tenure with Airdrieonians and a subsequent return to Hibs, Johnson was once again loaned out, this time in July 2023, to Queen of the South in the League One, before returning to Hibernian in August of the same year.
Despite Johnson's numerous loan spells, it seems that he has not yet nailed down a constant place in the Hibernian first team for the 2025-26 season. Following his last loan with Queen of the South, which ended in June 2025, Johnson has not featured in any league games for his parent club Hibernian. One can only hope this young keeper finds his grounding and begins to add to his tally of appearances soon.
