Born on 12 July 1996 in France, Moussa Dembele currently strides the pitch as a forward, primarily in the role of striker, for Al-Ettifaq. Towering at 6 feet (1.83m) and weighing in at 12 stone and 6 pounds (79kg), Dembele started his professional career on the British Isles.
In July 2012, a young Dembele made the journey across the channel to join Fulham in the Premier League. During the 2013 - 2014 season, he made two first team appearances. As Dembele grew more comfortable and experienced in his surroundings, his pitch presence increased with 11 first team appearances for Fulham in the 2014 - 2015 season, and, notably, 43 first team appearances with a scoring contribution of 15 goals during the 2015 - 2016 season.
In July 2016, Dembele hopped north of Hadrian's Wall to join Celtic for a transfer fee of around £500k. His tenure at Celtic left a notable impression on the fans and the club. In the 2016 - 2017 season at Celtic, Dembele made an impressive 29 first team appearances and hit the back of the net 17 times in league matches. The subsequent 2017 - 2018 season saw another strong performance from Dembele with 25 first team appearances and nine goals. In the 2018 - 2019 season, Dembele made just a single appearance for Celtic before his departure.
Leaving Celtic behind, in August 2018, Dembele transferred to Lyon in the Ligue 1 for a significant increase in transfer fee, amounting to around £20 million. He continued showcasing his footballing prowess at Lyon with regular first team appearances and a steady contribution to the club's goals tally over consecutive seasons. His impressive form at Lyon caught the eye of top Spanish side, Atletico Madrid, where he was loaned to in January 2021, making 5 appearances for the Spanish giants.
After his stint at Atletico Madrid, Dembele once again returned to Lyon before venturing eastwards to ply his trade with Al-Ettifaq in the Professional League in Saudi Arabia in July 2023.
