Moussa Dembele, born on the 12th of July 1996 in France, is a forward, primarily operating as a striker for Al-Ettifaq. His build is substantial, standing 6ft (1.83m) tall and tipping the scales at 12st 6lb (79kg).
In July 2012, he made the move to Fulham, a Premier League side in England. A gentle start saw him make two first team appearances in league matches during the 2013-2014 debut season. This was followed by 11 appearances in the 2014-2015 season, and a commendable 43 appearances with 15 goals in the 2015-2016 season.
The subsequent season of 2016 saw Dembele transfer from the English Premier League to the Scottish Premiership, joining Celtic for a fee of around £500k.
His stint at Celtic, lasting more than a couple of seasons, was marked with consistent performances and an increasing goal tally. In the 2016-2017 season, Dembele notched up 29 first team appearances and netted 17 goals. He followed this up with 25 appearances and nine goals in the 2017-2018 season. Before leaving Celtic in August 2018, Dembele made one appearance in the 2018-2019 season.
Post Celtic, Dembele signed for Lyon, in the French Ligue 1, for a sizable fee rumoured to be £20m. A stint lasting multiple seasons saw fluctuating fortunes — from 15 goals in 33 matches in his debut 2018-2019 season to a disappointing single goal from 16 matches in the 2020-2021 season. All in all, he scored 56 goals from 130 appearances in Lyon.
The beginning of 2021 saw Dembele whisked away on loan to Atletico Madrid in Spain's LaLiga, making five league appearances. At the completion of his loan, he returned to Lyon to resume his scoring antics in the French Ligue 1.
His latest move, in July 2023, whisked him away from France to the world of Saudi Arabian football, signing him up for Al-Ettifaq in the Pro League. The 2025-2026 season, to date, sees him yet to make an appearance for the Saudi outfit.
