Born in Germany on 30 April 1999, Moritz Jenz is a talented central defender currently playing for Wolfsburg. Standing at 6ft 2in (1.89m) and weighing in at 12st 3lb (78kg), he brings a good physical presence to his defensive role, and sports the number 15 jersey.
Jenz, now abreast of youth at 26 years, is presently valued at around £4m according to Transfermarkt.
His football career took a turn for the international when he transferred from the Premier League club, Fulham, to Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland's Super League in August 2020, for an undisclosed fee. During his inaugural season with Lausanne-Sport, Jenz made a splash with 30 team appearances and notched a goal to his name in league matches. His second season was a quieter affair with only two first team appearances.
In August 2021, Jenz made the move to Lorient in France's Ligue 1, for a fee close to £3m. He marked his time there with 17 first team appearances and a league goal during the 2021-2022 season.
July 2022 saw Jenz moving again, this time heading north to Celtic Football Club in the Scottish Premiership, but only on loan. However short, his stint with the Celts was noteworthy. He made 11 appearances in the first team and netted twice during the 2022-2023 season. Celtic supporters will remember him for his presence and significant contributions to the team prior to his loan move to Schalke 04 in Germany's 2. Bundesliga in January 2023.
His time at Schalke mirrored his experience at Celtic with 11 first-team league appearances.
The summer of 2023 brought yet another transfer, this time to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga for a handsome sum close to £6.9m. Making 22 first team appearances in the 2023-2024 season and another in the current 2025-2026 season, Jenz has solidified his place in the team.
A brief loan spell whisked Jenz away to Mainz 05 in the 2024-2025 season, where he made a respectable 19 first team appearances, before returning to Wolfsburg. Back at his home club, and in the current season, he's got a solitary appearance to his name thus far. Let's hope there's more to come for this industrious defender.
