You see, in July 2016, Elyounoussi moved to Basel in the Super League in Switzerland for around £2.8m. His performance was impressive, having made 32 and 33 appearances and bagging ten goals in each of the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons, respectively. He then made a significant leap in his career when he transferred from Basel to Southampton in the Championship in England for approximately £16m in July 2018.
Aside from his stint in England, Elyounoussi is ranked fondly in our memories for his spell at Celtic in the Premiership in Scotland, where he played on loan from 2019 to 2021.
