Born in France on October 11, 1994, Mikael Mandron is a talented forward who currently dazzles as a striker for St Mirren. With a formidable height of 6 feet 3 inches (1.91m) and weighing 12 stone 12 lbs (82kg), Mandron makes an intimidating presence on the pitch. Wearing the number 9 jersey, he is a vital component of the team.
Mandron's journey into professional football started when he joined Sunderland in the Premier League as a trainee in July 2011. The 2012 - 2013 season saw him making his debut and appearing twice in league matches. His final season at Sunderland, 2014 - 2015, saw him make a solitary first team appearance in league matches.
In January 2014, Mandron transferred on loan to Fleetwood Town in League Two. That season, he made 11 first team appearances, scoring one goal. His next loan move came in January 2015 to Shrewsbury Town where he made just three first team appearances.
The following season, November 2015, Mandron was on the move again, this time loaned to Hartlepool United in the National League. His stay was short-lived and not very impactful as it culminated in just five first team appearances. July 2016 saw a permanent move from Sunderland to Eastleigh in the National League, where Mandron found the back of the net ten times over 28 appearances.
In January 2017, Mandron's journeyman career found him moving to Wigan Athletic in League One for an undisclosed fee, but he made just three first team appearances. His time at Wigan was short. By July, he had transferred to Colchester United in League Two, again for an undisclosed fee. His season at Colchester was a reasonably successful one, netting eight goals over 28 appearances.
Continuing his itinerant football lifestyle, Mandron transferred from Colchester to Gillingham in July 2019. Over the 2022 - 2023 season, he made 23 first team appearances and scored one goal. A year later, in August 2020, Mandron transferred to Crewe Alexandra. However, by July 2022, he was back to Gillingham, where he repeated his previous performance of 23 appearances and one goal.
The French forward found a new home in Scotland in January 2023, transferring from Gillingham to Motherwell. In his debut season, he scored one goal over ten appearances. Six months later, in July of the same year, Mandron made another transfer, this time to St Mirren, also in the Scottish Premiership.
St Mirren seems to have been the perfect fit for Mandron. In his first season, he played 35 games and scored eight goals, and followed it up next season by playing 34 times and netting seven goals. Currently, in the 2025 - 2026 season, Mandron has already made ten first team appearances and scored one goal. This indicates his steady and valuable contribution to the team.
Furthermore, Mandron has shown his strength during cup matches. For St Mirren, he scored five goals over five starts and one substitute appearance in the League Cup 2025 - 2026, and one goal in two starts in the Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025.
This shows that he is ready to deliver when it matters and can be crucial in decisive matches.
