Mikael Mandron, born on 11 October 1994 in France, is a forward who primarily plays as a striker for St Mirren. Towering at 1.91m (6ft 3in), and weighing in at a solid 82kg (12st 12lb), Mandron dons the number 9 jersey on the field.
In July 2011, while still a trainee, Mandron joined the attended ranks of the English Premier League club, Sunderland. During his initial tenure with Sunderland, from season 2012 to 2013, and later in season 2014 to 2015, Mandron made a total of 3 league appearances.
During his time at Sunderland, Mandron was loaned out to a trio of English clubs. He spent time with Fleetwood Town in the second half of the 2013-2014 season, making 11 league appearances and scoring a solitary goal. In the 2014-2015 season, he was briefly with Shrewsbury Town making three appearances. He also spent a portion of the 2015-2016 season at Hartlepool United, with five appearances to his name.
In a bid for more regular gameplay, Mandron departed Sunderland in July 2016 to join Eastleigh in the National League. Here, he found the net 10 times during his 28 league appearances in the 2016-2017 season.
Mandron's performances caught the attention of League One team, Wigan Athletic. He made the move in January 2017 for an undisclosed fee, but only played three times for the squad in his debut season.
In search of more opportunities, Mandron left Wigan for Colchester United in July 2017. He spent the 2017-2018 season with Colchester, making 28 appearances and scoring eight goals. His next journey took him to Gillingham in the 2019 season, netting once in his 23 matches.
Mandron shuffled between Crewe Alexandra and Gillingham once more in the 2020 and 2022 seasons, before venturing to Scottish soil. He chose Motherwell as his initiation into the Scottish Premiership in January 2023, making 10 appearances and scoring a single goal.
However, it was with St Mirren, after a move in July 2023, that Mandron found a consistency of form. He notched up 35 appearances and scored eight goals in his debut season. Mandron continued to be a stable presence in the team, making 34 appearances with seven goals the following season. Currently, in the 2025-2026 season, he has already marked his presence with a single appearance.
Aside from his league contributions, Mandron has shown his mettle in cup games. He displayed goal-scoring form in the League Cup 2025-2026, netting four times in four appearances, and scored once in two starts in the Scottish Cup 2024-2025 season.
