Miguel Chaiwa, a Zambian by origin, was born on the 7th of June in 2004, making him a tender age of 21. Working primarily as a central defensive midfielder, Chaiwa provides his services to the Edinburgh-based Premiership outfit, the Hibernian FC. Standing at a height of 5ft 10in (1.79m), and tipping the scales at 11st 6lb (73kg), he brings a considerable presence to the pitch. Furthermore, the man sports the number 14 jersey for the Hibs and also had the honour of stepping up for the Zambia national team.
In the world of football financials, Chaiwa's current market value hovers around the Β£1m mark. The good folk at Transfermarkt are perhaps your best bet to confirm this figure.
Chaiwa's path to Hibs was a journey with twists and turns. In July 2022, he transferred to Young Boys Bern, the prominent Swiss side, from Shamuel, a Zambian outfit. His fee, on that occasion, remains a secret to this day. During his time at Young Boys Bern, he made several first team appearances: Six in his debut season (2022 - 2023), three in 2023 - 2024, and ten in 2024 - 2025.
However, the following February in 2024, Chaiwa headed out on loan to FC Schaffhausen, still inside Swiss borders, but within the lower tiers of the game at the 1. Liga Promotion. He enjoyed a run of 14 first team appearances that season with Schaffhausen. Upon completing his loan, Chaiwa returned to Young Boys Bern in June 2024. The numbers remain the same from his previous spell - six appearances in his first season back in 2022 - 2023, three in 2023 - 2024, and ten in the 2024 - 2025 season.
Eventually, in August 2025, the lad switched Geneva for Glasgow. The Hibernian FC prized him away from the Young Boys Bern for a fee close to Β£700k. To date, in the current season of 2025 - 2026, Chaiwa has already graced the pitch 10 times, finding the net once in his debut league season with the Hibs.
Outside the Scottish Premiership, Chaiwa has made an excellent impression on multiple fronts. He's been a key asset in various tournaments, starting twice in the League Cup 2025 - 2026 for Hibernian, and thrice for Zambia in the World Cup Qualifiers Africa 2024 - 2026. In the Conference League Qualifiers 2025 - 2026, he added another notch to his belt, scoring a goal in two appearances as a substitute.
