Born on 7 August 1997, Matty Cash is an English-born footballer who plays primarily as a right back for the Premier League side, Aston Villa. With a height of 6ft (1.85m) and weighing in at 12st 3lb (78kg), Cash commands a presence on the pitch. Donning the number 2 jersey, he has also been recognised at the international level, receiving caps for the Poland national team.

The defender began his professional career at Nottingham Forest. In July 2015, however, he was loaned to Dagenham & Redbridge in England's National League. In his debut season, Cash made a dozen first team appearances and notched up three goals in league matches.
By July 2016, he returned to Nottingham Forest. Over the next four seasons (2016-2020), Cash remained a constant fixture in Forest's first team, making between 23 to 42 appearances each season and scoring a total of 11 league goals.
September 2020 marked a significant milestone in Cash's career. He swapped the red of Nottingham Forest for the claret and blue of Aston Villa, with the transfer fee reported to be in the ballpark of £16m. Since joining Villa, he has consistently featured in the first team, making between 19 to 38 appearances each season (2020-2025), and has found the back of the net seven times in league matches.
Aside from his exploits in the domestic league, Cash has also represented Aston Villa in the FA Cup and the prestigious UEFA Champions League. Internationally, he has participated in the Euro Qualifiers for Poland, and also competed in the less high-profile Conference League for Aston Villa, where he scored once in 11 appearances.
