Scotland birthed one of its fine footballers, Matthew Anderson, on the 25th of January, 2004. Currently aged 22, this young man plays primarily as a defender in the left back position for the Kortrijk club. Physically, the lad stands at 5 feet 9 inches (approximately 1.76m) and tips the scales at 10 stones and 5 pounds (or around 66kg).
Anderson's journey in professional football initiated when he joined Celtic as a trainee in July 2019. The Scottish Premiership surely provided an excellent training ground for the fledgling player.
After a few years in Scotland, Anderson's path led him to Austria. Specifically, he secured a loan transfer to Admira Wacker in the country's 2. Liga in August 2023. During the ensuing 2023-2024 season with Admira Wacker, Anderson made a decent number of appearances, 21 to be exact, in the first team and also managed to find the back of the net once. He repeated this feat in the 2024-2025 season, with his game time increased slightly to 22 first team appearances.
When July 2024 rolled around, Anderson returned to Celtic, marking the end of his loan. He rejoined the Scottish club only briefly, however, as by September the same year, he was back at Admira Wacker on yet another loan.
His performance during this second stint at Admira was a mirror of his first spell. Over the course of the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons, he made 21 and 22 first team appearances respectively and netted a single goal in each year.
Anderson's journey took a decisive turn in July 2025 when he transferred from Celtic to Kortrijk, a club that competes in the Belgian Challenger Pro League. However, his time in Belgium has been somewhat uneventful up to this point in the current 2025-2026 season. So far, Anderson is yet to step onto the field for Kortrijk in a league match.
