Martin Boyle, born on 25 April 1993, is an accomplished forward who primarily plays as a right winger for Hibernian. Hailing from Scotland, he stands 5ft 10in (1.78m) tall and weighs a sturdy 11st (70kg). He vigorously dons the distinguished number 10 jersey for his club.
Boyle began his career as a trainee at Montrose in the Scottish League One in July 2009. His first team appearances over the course of four seasons from 2009 to 2013 reflected his growing confidence and skill level on the pitch, culminating in a notable haul of 22 goals over 36 appearances in the 2011 - 2012 season.
In August 2012, Boyle moved from Montrose to join Dundee in the Premiership, further bolstering his career. While his goal contribution was more modest at Dundee, it was clear the burgeoning winger was honing his skills at the top level of Scottish football.
Boyle had a brief period back on loan with Montrose in January 2013, before returning to Dundee in May 2013. It was during his second stint at Dundee that he cemented his position in the first team, with his performances earning a move to Hibernian in the Premiership, initially on loan, in January 2015.
After demonstrating his abilities with Hibernian, Boyle transferred permanently from Dundee to Hibernian in July 2015. His progression continued apace at Hibernian, finding the back of the net regularly and making a significant number of first-team appearances per season. It was an impressive display of consistency and attacking prowess for Boyle over these years, making him a key figure for Hibernian.
In January 2022, Boyle made a surprising and lucrative move from Hibernian to Al-Faisaly in the Saudi First Division. The transfer fee involved was reportedly around £3m. However, this Middle Eastern venture was cut short as Boyle returned to Hibernian in August 2022 for an undisclosed fee.
Since his return to Hibernian, Boyle's performances have again been at a high level, and he remains a key contributor to the team's attacking force, exceeding expectations season after season. He has also been influential in Hibernian's cup runs, notably in the League Cup 2024 - 2025 and the Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025 where he has scored a handful of goals while being a regular starter.
