In June 2016, Tolić brought his loan stint with Croatia Sesvete to a close and returned to Lokomotiva Zagreb. His performance was consistent with his first run at the club, netting a single first-team league appearance. Tolić then bounced from one loan spell to another when he moved to Gorica in August 2016, only to find himself back with Lokomotiva Zagreb in June 2017.
Retracing his career path, Tolić was loaned to Sesvete once more in August 2017, before returning to Lokomotiva Zagreb in 2019. It was in August 2020 when Tolić saw a more significant change. The Croatian midfielder transferred from Lokomotiva Zagreb to Dinamo Zagreb for a fee of roughly £270k. During his 2022 - 2023 season with Dinamo Zagreb, Tolić got a taste of first-team action in two league matches.
Staying on the move, Tolić was loaned out to Maribor in Slovenia in August 2022. However, he stayed there briefly and was loaned again to Slovan Bratislava in Slovakia in July 2023. In his current 2024 - 2025 season with Slovan Bratislava, Tolić has appeared six times in first-team league matches. Tolić has eventually committed to Slovan Bratislava, transferring from Dinamo Zagreb in July 2024 for an undisclosed amount. He has since made six first-team league appearances for the Slovak club.

He also participated in the Conference League in the 2023 - 2024 season for Bratislava.
