Born on 23 June 1994, Marcus Fraser is a Scottish defender, revered for his arresting performances as a central defender for St Mirren. Standing at 6 feet (1.84m) tall and boasting a weight of 12st 12lb (82kg), Fraser is an imposing presence on the pitch, and currently dons the number 22 jersey.
At a tender age, Fraser joined Celtic in July 2012 as a trainee, kickstarting his professional career in Scotland's Premiership. His debut season with Celtic in 2012-2013, however humble in its offerings, saw Fraser making a maiden first-team appearance in league matches.
By September of 2014, Fraser, aiming for more regular playing time, sought and secured a loan transfer to Cowdenbeath in the Lowland League. During his 2014-2015 tenure with Cowdenbeath, Fraser made a steady wave in the starting XI, featuring in 11 first-team league matches.
Soon after, in January 2015, Fraser saw a promising opportunity and made a strategic move from Celtic to Ross County, still within the Premiership's sphere. This transfer marked the advent of Fraser's flourishing period in his football career. The seasons from 2014-2020, interwoven with instances of thrilling football, saw Fraser making a formidable record of overall 141 first-team appearances and scoring three goals for Ross County.
In a bid to carve a niche in another Scottish club, Fraser transferred from Ross County to St Mirren in July 2020. Transcending the restraints of a new environment, his career took an upward trajectory with St Mirren where Fraser, between the seasons of 2020 - 2025, demonstrated unwavering consistency, recording 153 first-team appearances and scoring three goals in league matches.
Frazer's loyal service to St Mirren has also been marked by considerable starts in the League Cup (2024 - 2025), Scottish Cup (2023 - 2024) and Conference League Qualifiers (2024 - 2025). His reliability and tactical versatility have only added to his reputation as a consistent performer, and he continues to contribute to St Mirren's success in the current 2024 - 2025 season.
