Born on 23rd June 1994, Marcus Fraser is a Scottish defender noted for his central defensive role for St Mirren. Fraser's professional journey began in earnest when he joined Celtic as a trainee in July 2012. His first season with the Premiership team in 2012 – 2013 was somewhat unremarkable, finding himself only making one appearance in first-team league matches. However, during his time with Celtic, he made appreciable developmental strides, mastering the gritty realities of professional football and honing his tactical acumen.
He spent the 2014 – 2015 season on loan at Cowdenbeath in the Lowland League, making 11 first team appearances. Knocking the spectre of obscurity, Fraser performed admirably for the modest outfit.
His time at Celtic ended in January 2015 with a transfer to Ross County in the Scottish Championship. In July 2020, Fraser sealed a move to St Mirren in the Premiership. In his inaugural season 2020 – 2021 with the club, Fraser made an impressive 37 appearances, also notching up one goal. Over the next half-decade, from 2021 to 2026, Fraser has been a significant contributor to St Mirren's campaigns. With robust numbers of appearances each season, punctuating the scoresheet occasionally, his influence has been vibrant and palpable. As of the current 2025 – 2026 season, he has made one appearance for the club.
