Marco Tilio, born 23 August 2001 in Australia, is a 24-year-old striker plying his trade primarily as a right-winger for Rapid Vienna. He's not the biggest lad on the pitch, standing at 5 feet 6 inches (1.7m) and weighing in at a trim 10 stone 7 pounds (67kg). Tilio can be seen darting down the flanks in the iconic number 7 jersey, and he's also had the honour of representing his home country, Australia, on the international stage.
According to Transfermarkt, Tilio's current market valuation stands at a respectable €1.30m, which translates to just over £1million. Not a sum to scoff at by any means, especially considering the fickle market for wingers these days.
Having honed his skills in the A-League in Australia, with Sydney FC first and then Melbourne City, Tilio made a name for himself as a consistent player in front of goal. Across several seasons, he stocked up a decent tally of goals and appearances.
Then, in July 2023, Tilio's talent was acknowledged outside his home country as Celtic signed him up for a fee of around £1.1 million. However, his time at Celtic was, to put it mildly, brief. In the season 2023 - 2024, the Australian only managed two appearances with The Hoops, which must have been a major disappointment for both the player and the fans.
Tilio was then loaned back to Melbourne City for more game time, where he seemingly found his footing again, netting plenty of goals and racking up appreciable appearances across the seasons.
In August 2025, Tilio decided to venture to new pastures, transferring from Celtic to Rapid Vienna in Austria, fetching another decent sum of around £1.3 million for The Hoops. Currently, in the season 2025 – 2026, Tilio has already made five first team appearances for Rapid Vienna, scoring once. He's also turned out for Rapid Vienna in the Conference League, albeit as a substitute.
Despite not having the most memorable spell at Celtic, Tilio's career trajectory is evidence of the sheer dedication and resilience in the player. His journey from Australia to Scotland and then Austria is remarkable, and we're certain that he'll continue to strive in his career.
