Malik Dijksteel, born on the 8th of July 2001 in the Netherlands, is a forward who specialises in the role of right winger for St Mirren at the rather modest height of 5ft 9in (1.76m). The lad tips the scales at 11st 6lb (73kg), not a particularly imposing figure but then again football is a game of skill and agility more often than brute force. As for the shirt on his back, Dijksteel can be spotted sporting the number 18 for St Mirren.
The chaps over at Transfermarkt have rated his market value at around a modest £64k, arguably a bit of a bargain in today's inflated football market. At the mercy of contracts as all players are, Dijksteel's current one with St Mirren is set to expire on 31st May 2028, giving him a solid 2 years and 10 months of football left to play under its terms.
Dijksteel's start on the professional football route was with Telstar in the Eredivisie leagues of his home country, the Netherlands, a transfer that took place in July 2020. He enjoyed this piece of home ground until February 2021 when he was transferred to Middlesbrough in England's Championship. The lad moved to Wrexham, also in the Championship, a short two years later in March 2023. His journey was far from over though.
In August 2023, it was time for a change of pace and Dijksteel was transferred from Wrexham in England to Cork City in the Premier Division in the Republic of Ireland. During his debut season in 2023, he made eight first team appearances in league matches. By 2025, Dijksteel saw an increase in play with ten first team appearances and even netted a goal.
In July 2025, Dijksteel's career brought him north to Scotland, with a transfer from Cork City in the Republic of Ireland to St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership. The transfer fee was undisclosed, but given his market value mentioned earlier, it's speculated to be a moderate sum. Starting his journey at St Mirren in the 2025/26 season, Dijksteel has already made a first team appearance in one of their league matches.
