Maksymilian Boruc, hailing from Poland and born on 15 November 2002, is presently plying his trade as a goalkeeper for Hibernian Football Club. Standing at a strapping 6ft 4in (1.94m) and weighing in at a lean 11st 4lb (72kg), he proudly dons the number 25 jersey.
His journey to Hibernian has been somewhat roundabout. In July 2021, after his stint at West Bromwich Albion in the Championship, England, Boruc ventured back home. He put pen to paper for Ekstraklasa outfit, Slask Wroclaw. Exactly two years later, in July 2023, Boruc was once again on the move, this time journeying to the Scottish Premiership with Hibernian.
His inaugural season at Hibernian, 2023-2024, can be categorised as quiet with only two first-team appearances in league matches to his name. Currently, in the 2024-2025 season, Boruc has not made any first team appearances in league matches, quite a disappointing tale indeed.
A temporary respite from the lack of game time came in the form of a loan move to Arbroath in Scottish League One in January 2024. During this time, Boruc featured in 13 league matches, allowing him the necessary game time. On completion of his loan, in June 2024, Boruc returned to Hibernian.
His return to Hibernian has not resulted in a surge of first team involvement. A reiteration of his debut season, Boruc in the current 2024-2025 season, has yet to feature in a league match. As things stand, the sizeable Pole has not left an indelible mark at Hibernian.
