Maik Nawrocki, a stalwart defender born on the 7th of February, 2001 in the heartlands of Germany, is currently plying his trade as a central defender for Hannover 96. Standing at a commanding 6 feet 2 inches (1.9m) tall and tipping the scales at just over 12 stone (78kg), Nawrocki is a formidable presence on the pitch, donning the number 6 shirt for his current club. His skills on the pitch have elevated his market value to approximately £1.7m, as determined by Transfermarkt.
Back in July 2016, Nawrocki embarked on his footballing journey as a trainee with SV Werder Bremen II, competing in the Regionalliga Nord in Germany. Several years later, in February 2021, he had his first taste of playing abroad, as he found himself on loan at Warta Poznań in the Polish I Liga. In his debut season, he proved his worth, netting one goal in three league appearances.
Shortly afterwards, in July 2021, he was once again on the move, transferring to Polish top-flight team, Legia Warsaw. Over the succeeding two seasons, Nawrocki consolidated his reputation as a reliable part of the club's defence, making 44 appearances and scoring five goals in the process. His effective performances led to a permanent transfer to Legia Warsaw with a price tag of around £1.2m.
The summer of 2023 saw Nawrocki traverse across Europe to join Scottish giants, Celtic. His first season with the Glasgow-based club saw him gaining pitch time in ten league matches. Unfortunately, the following 2024-2025 season, his appearances were limited to only three, although he delighted the Celtic Park faithful with a goal during his short stint on the pitch.
In July 2025, Nawrocki was on his travels yet again, this time returning to his native Germany on loan to Hannover 96. However, circumstances being as they are, he has yet made no appearances in the current 2025 - 2026 season.
Despite the sporadic run of games at Celtic, Nawrocki left an imprint in the memories of the Hoops' faithful, thanks to his solid performances during the short stint that he enjoyed at the Glasgow-based outfit. His time in the Scottish Premiership can be factually verified, however, the stories sung in his honour in the stands of Celtic Park echo a far more vibrant tenure. Indeed, Celtic's part in sculpting Nawrocki's career, albeit brief, remains a noteworthy chapter in the chronicles of the tenacious German defender's career.
