Luke Kenny, aged 21, is a Scottish born footballer whose position on the field is predominately central defence. A cornerstone of St Mirren's lineup, the 5ft 11in (1.81m) and 11st 11lb (75kg) defender is easily recognisable in his number 26 jersey.
Arriving at St Mirren in July 2020 as a fresh-faced trainee, he ascended the club ranks, making two appearances for the senior team in his inaugural season of 2024 - 2025.
The following year in July 2021, Kenny sought a new challenge, transferring to East Kilbride of the Lowland League on a loan basis. However, this stint proved to be short-lived as by December 2021 he was recalled to St Mirren.
The young Scotsman couldn't resist the opportunity to showcase his talent further afield, venturing on loan to East Kilbride for the second time later in December 2021.
Reassuming his role at St Mirren in June 2022, after the completion of his loan with East Kilbride, he continued to bolster his presence in the 2024 - 2025 season, securing two further first team appearances.
In August 2023, eager to further diversify his experience, Kenny accepted a loan offer from Cliftonville in the Northern Irish Premiership. His year-long stint at the Irish club saw him earn 12 first-team league appearances throughout the 2023 - 2024 season. Allegiance to his native land proved unshakeable and Kenny returned to St Mirren in June 2024.
Despite the transitions and challenging loan tenures, Kenny maintained a sturdy performance in the current 2024 - 2025 season at St Mirren, marking two first team appearances in league matches. Furthermore, he's managed to earn a spot in St Mirren's Scottish Cup campaign for the 2024 - 2025 season with his solitary appearance as a substitute.
