Luis Palma, a Honduran forward hailing from the turn of the millennium (17th January, 2000), is currently delighting audiences with his left-wing manoeuvring for Lech Poznan. At a relatively modest 5ft 8in (1.75m) and tipping the scales at 11st 2lb (71kg), his weight of presence on the pitch can't be measured in physical stature alone. Inline with the infamy of the number, Palma dons the 77 jersey and has donned the same for his national team, Honduras.
His prowess and finesse haven't gone unnoticed, a conclusion gleaned not just from the spectators in the stands but from his market value, labelled at roughly €3.00m, or £2.6m in our local parlance. This figure comes directly from Transfermarkt, a reputable source within the footballing world.
Testing his mettle abroad, Palma was transferred from Vida of the League Teams in Honduras to Aris FC operating within the Super League in Greece in January 2022. His tenure with Aris FC saw him don the blue and yellow not once or twice, but a whopping 41 times, during which he managed to find the back of the net 13 times. However, his standout season in Greece was the 2022-2023 stint, when he scored 11 of these 13 goals over 29 appearances.
Following his successful tenure in Greece, our shores saw the arrival of Palma in August 2023, as Celtic FC managed to secure a transfer deal amounting to approximately £3.4m. During his time at Celtic Park, he made 36 appearances across two seasons, managing to find the back of the net seven times during the first season.
Arguably, his promising initiation into Scotland was overshadowed somewhat by a temporary departure on a loan to Olympiacos FC, another Greek Super League team, which disrupted his next season. He completed the 2024-2025 season appearing only eight times for both Celtic and Olympiacos.
Upon his return to Celtic, Palma had only a brief chance to regale his Scottish fans before being ushered out again, this time to Lech Poznan in Poland, again on loan. As of the current 2025-2026 season, he has sported the strip 14 times for Lech Poznan, while adding a further four goals to his ever-expanding professional tally.
In addition to his numerous league services, he also partook in several European matches. For Lech Poznan, these include campaigns in the Europa League Qualifiers, Champions League Qualifiers and the Conference League with Poznan. In his 9 matches across these competitions, he started 8 of them, scoring two goals in the process.
