Liam Shaw, born on the 12th March 2001 and thus currently aged 25, is a central midfielder who currently plays for Northampton Town. This English-born player stands tall at 6 feet 1 inch (1.87m) and weighs a healthy 11 stone 6 pounds (73kg). He can be primarily seen on the pitch sporting the number 29 jersey.
The genesis of Shaw's career was marked by his apprenticeship with Sheffield Wednesday in 2017. In his 2019/2020 debut season, Shaw only made a modest two first team appearances in league matches for Sheffield Wednesday. However, this limited exposure did not deter him as the subsequent season saw him feature in 19 first team league matches and even score a goal for the club.
On the cusp of the 2021/2022 season, Shaw made a move further North, transferring from Sheffield Wednesday to Celtic for an estimated fee of around £300,000. This season with Celtic, however, proved rather uneventful for Shaw who made only one first team appearance in league matches.
Roughly a year after his transfer to Celtic, Shaw was loaned out to Motherwell. In this season with Motherwell, he chalked up seven first team appearances in league matches. However, this stint proved to be a short one as by September 2022, Shaw was loaned out yet again, but this time to Morecambe in the National League in England. This move proved somewhat beneficial as Shaw made quite an appearance, featuring in 28 first team matches and scoring two league goals.
In 2023, Shaw was on the move again, being loaned out from Celtic to Wigan Athletic in the League One in England. The following year, in October 2024, he made a permanent move from Celtic to Fleetwood Town in League Two.
A mere three months later, in January 2025, Shaw was on his way again, transferring from Fleetwood Town to his current club, Northampton Town, in the League One in England, for an undisclosed fee. At present, in the season of 2025/2026, Shaw currently sports no first team appearances in league matches for Northampton Town.
In spite of the numerous transfers that have dotted his career, and the rather uneventful season with Celtic, Shaw's commitment to football is undeterred, and his future in the game remains as open as the field he graces.
