Henderson's journey in competitive football can be traced back to July 2015 when he was loaned from Hearts in the Premiership to Stenhousemuir in Scotland's League One. In his debut season of 2015 - 2016, he marked his presence with 11 first team appearances and a goal to his name. After his stint with Stenhousemuir, in July 2016, Henderson was transferred to Falkirk from Hearts in the Premiership.
He would clock in 22 first team appearances and two goals for Falkirk in the 2022 - 2023 season alone. He maintained a similar performance in the current 2024 - 2025 season, having already made nine appearances and scored one goal.

The next couple of years would see Henderson playing for Arbroath in League One, joining in July 2021, before making the move to his current club, Falkirk, in July 2022. He's had impressive outings with Falkirk in both the 2022 - 2023 and 2024 - 2025 seasons. Henderson made substantial contributions in the League Cup 2024 - 2025, scoring a goal in six starts, and notably, in the Scottish Cup 2023 -2024, scoring a goal in his sole start.
