Born in Scotland on the 15th of May 2003, Lewis Neilson is a defensive stalwart with a primary role as a centre-back. Currently playing for Falkirk, he cuts an imposing figure on the field with his height of 6ft 3in (1.91m) and a solid build of 13st (83kg). Neilson wears the number 15 jersey whilst representing his club.
Neilson began his football journey in July 2018 when he joined Scottish Premiership side Dundee United as a trainee. In his debut season (2020 - 2021) with The Tangerines, he made a modest entrance onto the professional stage, featuring nine times in league matches. The following season saw a slight reduction in appearances as he appeared only six times.
An opportunity for regular game time presented itself in March 2021, when Neilson was loaned to Falkirk, also in the Scottish Premiership. During the 2025 - 2026 season, Neilson became a more significant part of Falkirk's plans, making 13 first team appearances in league games. This stint was however short-lived as he returned to Dundee United in June 2021 upon the completion of his loan.
In July 2022, Neilson made a move to Hearts, another Scottish Premiership club. His time at The Jambos was however marked by sporadic appearances. During the 2022 - 2023 and the 2024 - 2025 seasons, Neilson could only manage to get game time in ten and five league matches respectively.
In a bid to get more regular play time, Neilson was loaned to the Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle in August 2023. His time there was more fruitful as he made 36 appearances and even netted a goal during the 2023 - 2024 season. However, he had to return to Hearts in June 2024 upon completion of his loan.
Another opportunity for a loan came in July 2024 when Neilson was loaned to St Johnstone, a club then in the Scottish Championship. He made a respectable umpteenth appearances during his time with The Saints for the 2024 - 2025 season. The loan once again ended with Neilson returning to Hearts in January 2025.
After attentively reviewing his performances during his time at St Johnstone, Falkirk decided to secure Neilson's services for another stint. In July 2025, Neilson, once again, found himself on loan, this time returning to the Bairns. He has since made another 13 appearances for them in the ongoing 2025 - 2026 season. He also participated in the League Cup and the Scottish Cup, starting five and making three appearances respectively.
