Lewis Neilson, born on 15 May 2003 and currently 21 years of age, hails from Scotland. Primarily playing as a central defender, Neilson currently represents Hearts. With his towering stature of 6ft (1.84m) and weighing 11st 6lb (73kg), he dons the number 23 jersey on the field.
In July 2018, he embarked on his professional journey with Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership as a trainee. His debut 2020-2021 season with Dundee United saw him making nine appearances in league matches, with the following 2021-2022 season seeing him on the field six times.
In March 2021, the defender took a short detour from Dundee United to Falkirk in the Scottish Championship, being loaned out. However, in June that same year, Neilson returned to Dundee United on the completion of his loan with Falkirk.
July 2022 marked another significant turn in Neilson's career as he transferred to Hearts, also competing in the Scottish Premiership. As of the current 2024-2025 season, Neilson has made a total of ten appearances for Hearts in the 2022 - 2023 season and four appearances so far in the current season.
Understanding the value of diverse experience, Neilson again set out on loan from Hearts to Partick Thistle, a team competing in the Scottish Championship. For the 2023-2044 season with Partick Thistle, Neilson contributed 36 appearances and his maiden goal in league matches. He returned to Hearts from Partick Thistle in June 2024, once his loan tenure ended.
In a similar vein, Neilson was loaned out to St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership in July 2024. Having made 17 appearances for St Johnstone during the current 2024-2025 season, he returned back to Hearts in January 2025 as his loan concluded. Furthermore, Neilson participated in the Scottish Cup 2024-2025 representing Hearts, making two starts.
Over the course of his career, it is apparent that Neilson has been moulded by a diverse range of experiences. The combination of being shaped by different clubs and the variety in terms of competition levels have undoubtedly contributed to this Scottish defender's current proficiency in his domain.
