Lewis Ferguson, born 24 August 1999 (age 26), is a Scottish centre-midfielder with Bologna, where he wears the number 19 shirt. His current market value is around £15.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Ferguson’s most productive league season came at Aberdeen in 2021-2022, when he scored 11 goals in 36 appearances. That return underlined what has tended to make him useful: he is not a decorative midfielder, but he gets into scoring areas, competes properly, and does enough of the unglamorous work to stay in managers’ plans.
His move on from Aberdeen took him to Bologna, where he remains a regular first-team presence in 2025-2026. This season he has made 44 appearances across all competitions for the Italian club, including 26 in Serie A, 14 in the Europa League, two in the Coppa Italia and two in the Supercoppa, scoring once.
He has also stayed involved with Scotland, making five appearances in European World Cup qualifying this season and scoring once. Ferguson’s career has moved from a strong domestic spell at Aberdeen to established top-flight football in Italy, with his place at Bologna still active rather than ceremonial.
